Privacy
Your trading journal. Private by design.
Log trades, analyze your performance and keep everything on your device. No account required, no cloud by default.
Your trades are your edge. They should stay yours.
Your trade history shows how you trade, what you risk and where you lose. Many trading journals upload it to third-party servers. TradesLog starts from the opposite idea: your data stays with you.
How a private trading journal works in TradesLog
- Local storage. Trades, accounts, strategies, plans and monthly targets are stored in a database on your device.
- Never sent to our servers. Your trading data is not transmitted to CaibneTik Apps and is never shared with third parties.
- No usage analytics or ad tracking. The app uses no advertising identifiers and no Google Analytics.
- No account required. You can use TradesLog without creating one. Linking your plan to a Google or Apple account is optional: it helps you recover your plan faster if you lose or change your device, and it improves support.
What we do collect
We keep this list short and explicit:
- Anonymous crash diagnostics through Firebase Crashlytics (stack traces, device model, OS and app version), only to fix bugs. They never include your trades or personal information.
- Minimal subscription data (a random device identifier and the subscription records from Google Play or the App Store) to run your plan and free trial. Your email is stored only if you choose to link your plan to an account.
- Short-lived security logs, which include your IP address.
None of this is used for advertising. See the full details in the FAQ.
Backup and sync, under your control
- Encrypted backup (Pro and Max). An AES-256 file sealed with your own recovery key. Restoring a backup is available on every plan.
- Optional automatic sync (Max). Google Drive on Android or iCloud on iOS. The file is encrypted on your device before it is uploaded, and on Android it lives in the app's private App Data folder.
- We cannot read your backups. CaibneTik Apps has no access to the key that decrypts them.
Lock the journal on your device
Protect access with fingerprint, Face ID or a PIN before the journal opens.
Cloud journal vs. TradesLog
| Typical cloud trading journal | TradesLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Where your trades live | On the provider's servers | In a local database on your device |
| Account | Usually required | Optional |
| Backup | Managed by the provider | AES-256 file sealed with your own recovery key |
| Who can read your backup | Depends on the provider's policy | Only you: CaibneTik Apps cannot |
| Usage analytics and ad IDs | Varies | None |
The trade-off: if you lose a device that has no backup, local data cannot be recovered. That is why we recommend turning on encrypted backup. A linked account helps you recover your plan; your trades come back from your backup.
You decide when to delete
Local data is removed when you uninstall the app or delete it from within the app. You can delete your account data from Settings → Plan & Account → Delete my information, or by emailing [email protected]. Cancel any subscription first in Google Play or the App Store.
Questions about privacy
Where is my trading data stored?
On your device, in a local database.
Do I need an account to use TradesLog?
No. An account is optional. Linking your plan to one helps you recover it faster if you lose or change your device, and it improves support.
What happens if I switch phones?
Restore your encrypted backup with your recovery key. If you linked an account, your plan is recovered faster too.
Is TradesLog a financial advisor?
No. TradesLog is a record-keeping and analysis tool only, and nothing in it is financial, investment, legal or tax advice.
